Musisum was founded in 2011 under its former name, Penguin Artists, emerging from Pinguinradio.com and initiated by a group of musicians. Its mission was to provide a platform for emerging and lesser-known artists, guided by the motto “for artists, by artists.”

In its early years, the focus was primarily on radio airplay and small-scale live performances. Between 2015 and 2022, the organization expanded significantly, evolving to support artists through enhanced online visibility, the organization of larger festivals, and more active promotion.

As the platform’s capabilities expanded significantly and its artist community grew rapidly, a decision was made in 2022 to develop an entirely new platform. This new environment places a strong emphasis on fan building and direct fan communication, enabling artists to create and nurture a loyal audience through a direct connection.

In addition, the platform offers a wide range of features, including radio airplay, live performances, music distribution, merchandise, and concert scheduling. All of these tools are managed by the artists themselves through a personalized environment and website, an approach that stands out in today’s digital music landscape.

In 2024, this platform went live under the new name Musisum.
